The Perfect Weekend

There are not many times when you can say you had a perfect weekend. Well I just had one, and I do mean perfect. On Friday I got my hair cut when I got off at 1:00 from work. Then I went home and sat in my hammock and read my Surfers Path magazine. After that we got together with our friend and went and ate a delicious meal at Perry’s Steak house prior to going to see Marla’s dad in 1776 the musical. That was a fun show, and Marla’s dad did a great job. If you live in the area you should go see him in it. It runs through this weekend.
Saturday I spent the mourning on the porch and then some friends came over and we headed over to the new Bass Pro Shop. It was pretty impressive (no I didn’t buy any thing). Then I came home and Marla and I watched movies all evening. Now Sunday was the best day. After lunch and church I went home and read some more of my magazine and fell a sleep in the hammock for about an hour and a half. Then I set out there the rest of the day till we headed over to Jeremy and Mandy’s to watch the last game of the World Series. Witch was the perfect end to a great weekend I hope I can do it again in the future. This up coming weekend is opening weekend of dear session and I will be in Lufkin This weekend and I will be sitting in nature again. Man if this isn’t the life I don’t know what is. Thank God for a natural get away and how easy it can be to achieve it. Get out and in joy the good weather. “Do not postpone any thing for tomorrow for you might not get one.”

New Link

If you read my last post and where shocked that this is happening. I hope that you will take a look at the new links I’ve added to this site. It should further encourage or inspire you to seek a cleaner life style and help out our eco system. I know I am approaching this from a surfer’s point of view but this is how I became passionate about this problem. I hope to add further links and comments on these subjects.

Eco Depression

To anyone who reads my blog I hope that you will help me with a little problem. On Saturday Oct. 19 2007 I was at the beach surfing. I’m not the most “Green” person but blatant pollution and especially disrespect for the beach infuriates me. The first thing I saw floating in the water was a Frito Lay Chip bag, which someone discarded. Then it proceeded to get worse I then found a 5 gallon bucket that had oil in it and that still had the residue in it that got on me when I pulled it out. Next, I saw a large oil filter (like from a diesel truck). This filter was full of oil.I know that there Is a possibility that a citizen might have discarded these things in the ocean, but due to past events and seeing the oil rig workers just let blow off pressure and oil in to the ocean which got all over my uncles boat while we where fishing and the bucket having a Shell Oil Corp. sticker on it. I would like to invite those who read this to take a stand. I am in the process of formulating an email to send to Shell Oil Corp. From hear on out I will not purchase fuel oil or other merchants products from a Shell Filling station. I ask that if you take care of the beach and all of Gods wonderful creation and all of your favorite and secret spots of retreat.

p.s. please enlighten your friends to this particular problem so that more people can see what corporate oil company’s are doing to our world.

Birthday Weekend

Well as of Friday Oct. 12 I am officially 25 years old. It was definitely one of the best birthdays I have ever had. Marla was an exceptional birthday night planner. For all of you who have read Marla’s Blog you already now what we did, but you I have no idea how much fun the activities of this weekend was. We also went to my parents for dinner on Saturday where we ate fajitas. My parents got me a set of Lego’s, which I put together on Sunday. I wanted to go surfing this weekend but the surf was flat. I hope that this coming Saturday will be better and since Marla will be at a church function there should be no problem with me getting away. So if any of you that read this want to go you know how to get a hold of me. I will soon be working crazy hours again hopefully which will cause an even longer gap between surfing sessions. Well I wish I had something interesting to bestow upon you, like a clever saying or a good motto. Let me leave you with these two quotes~ “Adrenaline is a funny drug” Brock Little ~ here is one from Point Break “Surfing’s the source. It will change your life. I swear to God.”
